Reunions are Going Green

Reunions Unlimited is committed to helping the environment and at the same time trying hard to keep reunion costs down.  You can help with both, by participating in our Paperless Reunion Program.

If this option works for you, and we know that it does not work for everyone, then you will need to read reunion emails and visit this web site to keep yourself updated on details, changes, and deadlines.

Help spread the word and cut down on paper and costs by encouraging those you are still in contact with to do the same.

Here is a list of ways Reunions Unlimited is going green by reducing, reusing and recycling…

  • Total integration of online technology and database management
  • Providing safe and secure online registration and payment options
  • Telecommuting options available to RU staff
  • Strong in-house program to recycle paper, plastic, glass and cans
  • Double sided printing and reusing single sided copies for drafts, before they hit the recycling bin.
  • Limited paper usage by consolidating mailing information into smaller formats and offering paperless options
  • Recycle or donate outdated office equipment and cell phones
  • Environmentally friendly staff room with no plastic water bottles
  • Energy conscious use of office equipment, lights, heating/ac units and water consumption
  • Use of local vendors and full service venues
  • Donate unused food to soup kitchens when possible
  • Reusing reunion decorations and school banners
  • Use of live plants and edible decorations
  • All photographers use digital photography to eliminate the need for film and printing chemicals
  • RU staff carpools to every event
  • Giving you the opportunity to connect with classmate prior to the reunion to arrange car pools

Community Programs:

School Supply Drive:  At every reunion, classmate attendees are encouraged to bring a donation of new or gently used school supplies to the reunion.  All donations are then sent directly to their school.  Reunions Unlimited has received thousands of dollars in donated goods which have been distributed to high school students in need.  If you cannot attend your reunion but would like to participate in this program, please give us a call.

Waste Free Holidays:  Give the gift of experience.  Reunions Unlimited is participating in a 4 county program (King, Pierce, Thurston & Kitsap) that promotes giving gifts of experiences and services from local businesses to help reduce waste.  Visit www.wastefreeholidays.com.

Climate Solutions Challenge Match: Please consider making a gift to support Climate Solutions incredibly important campaign, the sooner the better. Reunions Unlimited will match every dollar raised during the year (you can start now) up to a total of $1,000. Global warming is our generation’s greatest challenge. Climate Solutions understands the challenge and is using its unique strengths to build a big, positive, irresistible movement for solutions. With your matching gift, Climate Solutions can help deliver victories on a coherent set of Washington state and regional policies that rise to the scale of the climate challenge we are confronting. Help them build from their record of success toward a bigger, more powerful regional campaign for solutions – one that inspires the world. Please make a donation today. In the description box please type "Reunion match" so they can properly track your donation. Thanks!
